2017 METCON Rush 2.0 presenting The
ARC of Washington County with a check for $1,000.
METCON Rush is teaming up with The Arc of Washington County for our 2nd annual event!
The Arc of Washington County relies on individual contributions – large and small — to maintain the high level of services and support they provide. Their clients need the ARC's services to help them accomplish goals many of us take for granted, such as living independently, gaining employment and becoming an active participant in the community.
When sponsoring the METCON Rush you are enabling the ARC to provide life-changing opportunities:
The smiling face taking horseback riding lessons, or even college classes, is gaining self-confidence
The individuals learning to operate a sewing machine, computer or vending machine are acquiring work skills
The experience of vacationing at Disney World or Ocean City creates memories that last a lifetime
A child opening gifts on Christmas morning knows that someone cares
Having much-needed dental work performed eases discomfort and improves health
Providing sensory stimulation equipment for a child or adult with autism helps them explore their environment
Being able to sponsor dances, cookouts and parties lets folks have fun

2016 METCON Rush presenting Jonny and Rachel slick with a check for $1,000 to go towards their adoption process.
"My name is Jonny Slick and my amazing wife is named Rachel. Rachel lives with Cystic Fibrosis and received a double lung transplant in February of 2011, after being sick in the hospital just 1 month after we got married. Her lung function had gotten down to just 23%, but now her beautiful new lungs are performing over 100% of what doctors estimate that they should be.
So after years of praying, we’ve made the decision to adopt! It will be a domestic infant adoption, meaning our first child will come from the US a few days after his or her birth. The fees are spread out over the adoption process and range from $50 to $13,000 with a total cost of over $33,000. So…we’re putting on a great day of competition and fun to help raise funds to bring home our baby!"
2018 METCON Rush presenting Brooke's House with a check for $3,000 for their foundation.
METCON Rush is teaming up with Brooke's House for our 3rd annual event!
Tragically on April 14, 2015, Brooke Erin Simmers died of a heroin overdose at the age of 19.
To ensure that Brooke’s life was not in vain, her parents, Kevin and Dana Simmers, created Brooke’s House as a legacy to their daughter’s struggle with addiction, and a community resource to help save the lives of other women struggling with drug abuse.
The mission of Brooke’s House is to inspire and empower women suffering from the disease of addiction by providing them a safe, stable, and emotionally supportive living environment while in the early stages of recovery.
Experts acknowledge that a sober living facility for individuals in early recovery is known to be beneficial along the way to ultimate rehabilitation. Brooke’s House will provide an effective community-based, sober living environment where women will work to remake their lives.
Brooke’s House is designed to inspire growth and change, strengthening women’s minds, bodies and spirits so they can pursue and achieve their dreams.
